Part 1 — A Visit to a Local Family Garden
Meet your local host and step into their garden, a peaceful corner of rural Cát Bà filled with tamarind and custard apple trees, dragon fruit plants, seasonal vegetables, chickens, and ducks.
As you explore, discover how a typical local family tends their garden and raises poultry as part of everyday life.
Part 2 — The Duck Massage Experience
Now for the fun part! At the duck coop, you’ll meet a lively flock of nearly a hundred tame ducks. Your host will give you rice grains, the ducks’ favorite food, and show you how to attract them.
Place a little rice on your feet, palms, or lower legs and watch as the ducks gather around to peck at the grains. With your host’s guidance, you can explore different suitable areas and enjoy the funny, ticklish sensations of this unusual encounter.
There’s no special technique to learn — just relax, follow your host’s instructions, and enjoy the moment. It’s a playful experience full of laughter, unexpected interactions, and great photo opportunities.
Part 3 — Traditional Rod Fishing
After meeting the ducks, take a simple fishing rod and some traditional bait and try your luck at fishing.
Your guide will help you get started, then it’s time to wait patiently for a bite. You might discover a hidden talent for fishing — or simply enjoy a peaceful moment in the countryside. Either way, it’s all part of the fun!
Part 4 — A Refreshing Finish at The Mangrove
Return to Cabalina Grove and settle down at The Mangrove Café & Restaurant. Enjoy your included drink while taking in the surrounding greenery and dramatic limestone scenery.
It’s the perfect way to end a fun and memorable encounter with local life on Cát Bà.
